Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how MentorNow (“MentorNow,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the MentorNow mobile applications, this website, and related services (together, the “Service”).

1. Who this applies to
The Service is for adults using MentorNow as a mentee, a mentor, or both. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
2. Information we collect
Account and profile
- Email address and authentication credentials
- First and last name
- Role (mentee, mentor, or both)
- Professional background: field, specialty or practice area, qualification year, and region or jurisdiction where relevant
- Optional profile photo
- Mentor availability settings (paused, schedule, timezone)
Sessions and feedback
- Session metadata: who requested, who accepted, specialty, mentoring type (traditional or peer), timestamps, and duration
- Optional post-call ratings and written feedback
- Reports you submit about a session
Device and technical data
- Push notification tokens (Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can alert mentors and mentees
- Basic device and app diagnostics needed to operate and secure the Service
- Website logs such as IP address, browser type, and pages viewed when you visit this site
Permissions you grant on your device
- Camera and microphone for live video calls and optional profile photos
- Photo library if you choose a profile photo from existing images
- Notifications to deliver incoming mentor requests and session updates
- Biometrics (Face ID / fingerprint) only to unlock the app on your device — biometric templates stay on the device and are not sent to us
3. Information we do not collect
MentorNow does not record, store, or transcribe the audio or video of live mentoring calls. Calls are delivered in real time through our video provider and end when you hang up or when the call time limit is reached. Session history keeps metadata and optional ratings, not the conversation itself.
We ask you not to share confidential, privileged, or sensitive client information during a session. If you do, we cannot treat the call as privileged or as a substitute for professional advice.
4. How we use information
- Create and secure your account
- Match mentees with available mentors based on specialty, experience, region, and mentoring type
- Connect participants to a live call and enforce the 5–10 minute time cap
- Show session history, availability, and basic mentor stats
- Send transactional email (sign-up confirmation, password reset, email change)
- Send push notifications you have enabled
- Review reports, prevent abuse, and keep the Service reliable
- Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Use
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the Service:
- Other members. A mentor who receives your request sees limited profile details needed to accept (for example name, photo, and specialty). After a session, both participants can see that it happened in history.
- Service providers. We use infrastructure and communications vendors acting on our instructions:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and server functions
- Google Firebase — push notifications
- Daily — live video and audio transport for calls
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect users, the public, or MentorNow from harm or abuse.
6. Cookies and this website
This marketing site is static and does not use advertising or analytics cookies. Your browser may store ordinary technical data (for example a cache of images). If we add optional analytics later, we will update this policy.
7. Retention
We keep account and profile data while your account is active. Session metadata and ratings are kept so you can review history and so we can operate matching and safety features. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed for those purposes, unless a longer period is required by law. Push tokens are replaced when your device token changes and removed when you sign out or disable notifications where the app supports it.
8. Your choices and rights
- Edit your profile, photo, role, and availability in the app
- Turn notifications on or off in the app and on your device
- Decline camera or microphone permission — you will not be able to join a video call without them
- Request access, correction, or deletion of your personal information by emailing [email protected]
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (for example under GDPR or CCPA), including the right to object to certain processing or to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. We will not discriminate against you for exercising those rights.
9. International transfers
We and our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Those countries may have different data-protection laws than your home country. We use providers that offer appropriate contractual and technical safeguards for that processing.
10. Security
We use industry-standard measures such as encrypted transport (HTTPS), authenticated APIs, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Please use a strong password and do not share confidential information on a call.
11. Third-party stores and links
The App Store and Google Play have their own privacy practices. If you follow links away from MentorNow, their policies apply.
12. Changes
We may update this policy as the Service changes. We will post the new version here and change the “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be called out in the app or by email.
